Rani Patel in full effect

I really liked the style and the raps were actually pretty good, and I also like the exploration of a girl like Rani. I did think the beginning needed more work; I couldn't tell that Rani had ANY good feelings for her father until quite a bit in so her motivations were really confusing (they weren't in the latter half though), and it didn't really grab me until closer to the midpoint.

Finalist for the 2017 William C. Morris Debut YA Novel award from American Library Association.

Still not sure where my feelings lie on Rani Patel because, gosh, there is A LOT going on. I do think it's a captivating book that does some valuable work, but it suffers from a serious lack of editing that could've made it a standout.
