A survival guide for buying a home

This is one of the best (if not THE best) books on buying a home that I've ever seen, there's more useful (and highly-relevant) info packed into this relatively-slim volume than I've seen in numerous other books on the topic (including a lot of good-to-know items that I haven't seen covered elsewhere, such as details on what's covered and not covered on the various types of hazard insurance policies).Written in a down-to-earth and very understandable style, this book walks you through all of the steps to buying a house, manufactured home, condo, townhome, or co-op with a lot of informative sidebars and helpful tips along the way.

I'd agree with the other reviewers--this book is filled with lots of good information. We bought a townhouse and it even had a couple sections of really good advice (learning about homeowners association, asking what neighbors thought of the community, what kind of insurance you'll need--what questions to ask your insurance agent even).

Any seeking a home in today's real estate market will welcome the second updated edition of A Survival Guide for Buying a Home, offering time-saving techniques to understanding mortgage rules, loans, lease options, credit and more. Also included: finding the right agent, buying homeowner's insurance, and preparing a purchase for resale.
